🇧🇾 Belarus Launches Crypto Mining with Backing from Lukashenko and Chinese Investment

In Belarus’s Mogilev region, preparations are underway for the construction of large-scale crypto mining farms, backed directly by President Alexander Lukashenko.

The spotlight is currently on the Krichev district, where groundwork began last year on the country’s first major mining project, funded by Chinese investors. The project has an estimated budget of 190 million Belarusian rubles (approx. $58 million).

This initiative aligns with Belarus’s broader strategy to develop its digital economy, with a strong focus on mining and blockchain infrastructure. The country has already legalized crypto assets under Decree No. 8, and now seems poised to scale up its ambitions — leveraging cheap electricity and strategic partnerships with Asian firms.

If successful, the region could become a leading crypto mining hub in Eastern Europe.
