🇲🇽 Mexican Billionaire Ricardo Salinas Increases Bitcoin Holdings to 70% of His Investment Portfolio
Ricardo Salinas, founder and chairman of Mexican conglomerate Grupo Salinas, known for his strong support of Bitcoin, has announced that 70% of his investment portfolio is now allocated to Bitcoin-related assets. The remaining 30% is invested in gold and shares of gold mining companies. Salinas noted that he holds no bonds or stocks outside of his own companies.
Salinas first invested in Bitcoin around 12 years ago, when its price was just $200, and has steadily increased his position ever since. He describes Bitcoin as “the hardest asset in the world” and encourages investors to accumulate it gradually using a dollar-cost averaging strategy. In his view, Bitcoin’s fixed supply makes it more attractive than gold, whose supply increases by roughly 3% per year due to mining.
Salinas is also actively working to integrate Bitcoin into his business ventures. Since 2021, he has been advocating for Banco Azteca to become the first Mexican bank to accept Bitcoin, though he continues to face regulatory roadblocks.
These moves reflect Salinas’ deep confidence in the long-term value of Bitcoin and his commitment to adapting his portfolio to the evolving financial landscape.
