🎭 How a Crypto Scammer Turned X into a Personal Bank: $500K in a Month! 🕵️‍♂️💸

The crypto community is in shock: in just one month, an unknown hacker breached over 15 popular accounts on X (formerly Twitter) and made approximately $500,000! Victims included Kick, the streaming platform; the Brett meme coin; and even Worldcoin co-founder Alex Blania. The December 24 attack on Kick was the most high-profile event in this saga.

The scam was both simple and ingenious. The hacker sent fake emails resembling official X notifications about copyright violations. Unsuspecting account owners clicked on phishing links, where they were tricked into resetting their passwords and disabling two-factor authentication. Once in control of the accounts, the scammer launched fake tokens and promoted them to victims’ followers, earning profits from every purchase made by trusting users.

But the story doesn’t end there. Crypto sleuth ZachXBT traced the scammer’s wallets and fund transfers. Although the perpetrator’s identity remains unknown, this investigation might lead to their downfall.

This case is a stark reminder of the importance of cybersecurity. Always verify messages’ authenticity, avoid suspicious links, and use strong passwords. In the world of crypto, caution is your best ally.
