AlphaBot 2: Humanoid Robot with GOVLA AI Operates at Dongfeng Auto Plant
The Chinese company AI² Robotics has introduced the humanoid robot AlphaBot 2, equipped with its proprietary large-scale GOVLA model (Vision-Language-Action), which is already in operation at the Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd. automobile factory.
AlphaBot 2 performs a wide range of tasks, including loading and unloading materials, towing carts, applying labels to windshields, and placing protective covers. The robot demonstrates high adaptability and interaction capabilities, overcoming the limitations of traditional robots that are usually confined to fixed stations and narrow-use scenarios.
From a technical standpoint, AlphaBot 2 features more than 34 degrees of freedom, enabling full-body coordination, 360-degree autonomous navigation, and precise long-duration task execution. It can synchronize arm, torso, and chassis movements for high-precision operations, adapting to the flexible and demanding conditions of modern production lines.
In addition, the collaboration between AI² Robotics and Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor aims to build a “digital data flywheel”, where factory operations generate valuable real-world data to further train the GOVLA model and enhance production efficiency.
