Bundesbank President Explores Digital Euro Future at MIT Media Lab

On the 16th of April at 10:30 AM, Dr. Joachim Nagel, the President of the Deutsche Bundesbank, Germany’s central bank, will make a visit to the MIT Media Lab to discuss the potential launch of a digital euro for the European Union’s euro area. The talk, titled “Digital Euro: Vision, Advancements, and Challenges,” will feature Dr. Nagel’s insights into the necessity of a digital currency in the euro area, the technological and policy hurdles that need to be overcome by the European Central Bank, and the current progress on the plans to introduce this new type of public money. He will be joined by Dr. Neha Narula, director of the MIT Digital Currency Initiative, for a speech and fireside chat.
