China’s AI Agent Manus — a new challenge to OpenAI and the entire world of AI agents.

The startup ManusAI introduced its AI agent on March 5, 2025 — and within just a few months, it stormed the global market. During closed testing, Manus was immediately nicknamed the “Operator killer” (referring to OpenAI’s product), and its release is being compared to the launch of the first reasoning model, DeepSeek-R1.

What’s the magic? Manus is the first truly autonomous AI agent. It operates across multiple tabs and applications simultaneously, independently plans actions, selects tools, and executes tasks — without constant user prompts.

In the prestigious GAIA Benchmark for AI agents, Manus confidently outperformed its competitors — including Deep Research by OpenAI. For example, when asked to “find an apartment in San Francisco,” Manus doesn’t just list websites. It evaluates crime rates, rent prices, environmental quality, and weather conditions to provide a comprehensive, well-balanced recommendation.

Even more impressive — ask Manus to analyze Tesla’s financials, assess market sentiment, build a SWOT analysis, and provide investment advice. It does everything: gathers the data, interprets it, builds graphs, and produces a complete investment report.

And yes — it can work with mobile apps. Fully. In the background. On its own.
