Geothermal Inside: Bedrock Raises $8.5 Million for a “Green” HVAC Revolution
American startup Bedrock Energy has raised $8.5 million to scale its approach to geothermal heating and cooling for buildings. The round was led by Wireframe Ventures and Azolla Ventures, with participation from First Star Ventures and Overline.
Bedrock offers an alternative to traditional HVAC systems — drilling wells and using the Earth’s natural heat for heating and cooling buildings. It sounds simple, but behind it are advanced algorithms, drilling automation, and rapid installation, making geothermal systems not only eco-friendly but also cost-effective for clients.
The investment will be used to expand operations across the U.S., including entry into the commercial real estate and residential sectors. The company believes its system will significantly reduce CO₂ emissions in the construction industry — one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions.
A bet on deep-earth energy sources could become a critical element in urban decarbonization strategies. Geothermal is getting closer to the mainstream.
