German AI startup snipKI took LinkedIn by storm overnight

The wave of eye-catching career infographics that recently flooded LinkedIn turned out not to be a marketing campaign, but the result of anexperiment by the German AI startup snipKI. The team led by co-founder Jens Polomski built the MyJourney tool in just ~5 hours—without writing code manually, using modern generative AI services and “vibe coding” methods. The idea went viral: within a week, more than 160,000 images were generated by ~90,000 users, and the startup’s corporate page saw a significant surge in attention.

Technically, MyJourney combines modern solutions such as Google AI Studio, Gemini 3, and other AI tools into a simple interface that transforms standard LinkedIn profiles into stylized visual career stories. This approach is not a classic product, but a demonstration of the capabilities of new low-code/no-code tools, where generation moves faster than development by a traditional team.

Notably, the tool’s success did not stem from expensive advertising campaigns, but from organic user sharing: in the first week, API costs amounted to around €25,000, yet the reach spanned tens of thousands of people at a much lower cost than comparable paid campaigns.

For investors and the ecosystem, this is an example of how innovations in generative AI can quickly resonate with a professional audience—especially when a product touches the visual and social dimensions of communication. Lowering barriers to entry in development—from programming skills to the smart combination of AI building blocks—continues to be one of the key trends shaping the startup landscape. Business Punk.
