JAKA K-1: A Modular System for Creating Humanoid Robots

The Chinese company JAKA Robotics has introduced the JAKA K-1 system — a modular platform designed for the development of humanoid robots. It offers ready-made components such as a “brain” (controller), manipulators, force and vision sensors, as well as software tailored for developer teams and research institutes working in artificial intelligence and robotics.

JAKA K-1 debuted at the Shanghai International Industry Fair in 2024. The robot features 29 movable joints, including 14 degrees of freedom in each arm, providing high flexibility and precision in movement. Standing 1.8 meters tall, the robot’s design enables it to adapt to various tasks in industry, logistics, and services.

The system is equipped with advanced sensors, including depth cameras and motion detectors, allowing K-1 to effectively interact with its environment and operate safely around humans. Thanks to its modular design and intelligent control, the JAKA K-1 can be integrated into existing workflows, enhancing both productivity and safety.
