LAST Energy Opens Micro-Reactor Factory: The Future of Power Takes Shape

The UK may become a leader in clean energy: the company LAST Energy has begun construction of the world’s first factory to mass-produce micro-modular nuclear reactors (MMRs). These compact energy units, capable of generating 10 to 20 megawatts of electricity, promise a revolution in decentralized power supply.

Unlike traditional nuclear power plants, MMRs are smaller, cheaper, and feature enhanced safety through passive systems that require no external intervention. The new factory will be a cornerstone in scaling up MMR production, paving the way for: The phase-out of fossil fuels and reduction of harmful emissions — a vital step toward global decarbonization; Delivering energy to remote regions previously cut off from centralized grids — bringing hope for development and prosperity.

This project is not just a technological breakthrough — it’s a real opportunity to build a cleaner, more reliable, and more accessible energy future. LAST Energy is proving that innovation in nuclear power can be a powerful force for transformation.
