Meat Reinvented
The German startup MyriaMeat, founded in 2022 in Munich and Göttingen, has made a major breakthrough in cultivated meat production. The company has developed the world’s first true pork muscle tissue from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS), which naturally contracts like living muscle tissue.
This achievement confirms the feasibility of producing real pork meat outside of a living organism, bringing cultivated meat closer to traditional meat obtained through animal slaughter. MyriaMeat aims to create an exact replica of pork, rather than a substitute, which could increase consumer acceptance, especially among those who do not consider plant-based alternatives.
MyriaMeat’s innovation opens new possibilities for sustainable and ethical meat production, offering an alternative to industrial livestock farming and its associated environmental challenges. The company plans to further develop its platform for high-quality clean meat production and other meat products, positioning itself as a key partner in the development of innovative protein alternatives.
