Olto: A Bike Lane Electric Vehicle with No License or Insurance Required 

The American startup Infinite Machine has unveiled Olto — a compact electric vehicle designed for riding on bike lanes. Olto combines the convenience of a scooter with the legal classification of an electric bicycle, meaning it does not require a driver’s license, registration, or insurance. The starting price is $3,495, with deliveries scheduled for Fall 2025.

Olto is equipped with integrated front and rear lights, turn signals, horn, and a 4.3-inch LCD display with smartphone mount. The pedals can be used for extra power or locked in place using magnets to serve as footrests.

The Infinite Security system includes GPS tracking, a slot for Apple AirTag, automatic handlebar and wheel lock, and a theft alarm with smartphone notifications. An additional backup battery keeps security features active even when the main battery is removed.

Olto supports various accessories, including a child seat, front basket, and rear cargo rack. The magnetic pedals can be replaced with footpegs, and hidden footrests ensure comfort for two riders.
