OpenAI changes the game: a free image generator with photorealistic graphics
OpenAI has introduced a free image generator based on the GPT-4o model that creates truly realistic graphics, as reported on OpenAI’s official blog. Now every ChatGPT user—from free users to subscribers of Plus, Pro, and Team plans—can turn their ideas into visual masterpieces in just seconds. And these aren’t just images; this is a tool opening limitless possibilities for creativity and business!
What can the new generator do?
Anything you can imagine! Need an event poster, infographic for a presentation, or a comic with your favorite character? Easy! Looking for game slides or a meme that will go viral? No problem! With this model, you can design a restaurant menu in seconds, accessorize a character, or change a scene’s background. It “understands” your requests—from a character’s facial expression to precise text on cards. Most impressively, the generator renders text flawlessly, making it ideal for professional tasks.
The model is trained on vast datasets, enabling it to create photorealistic images with incredible detail. For example, ask for “a photo of a smiling child holding a balloon against a sunset background,” and you’ll get exactly what you envisioned. Need adjustments? Simply describe the edits in words, and the AI will handle the rest. OpenAI also added C2PA metadata to confirm image origins and continues to block prohibited requests like deepfakes.
However, the launch was so popular among free users that on March 27, Sam Altman announced a temporary suspension due to server overload. Meanwhile, paying users are actively experimenting, creating everything from restaurant menus to game scenes. This generator represents a genuine breakthrough, making AI accessible to everyone who wants to create. But can OpenAI handle this popularity and maintain quality? We’ll soon find out!
