Soulmates Ventures Launches €50M Fund for Sustainable Innovation

Prague-based venture fund and accelerator Soulmates Ventures has announced the launch of a new €50 million fund to support startups focused on sustainable innovation. As reported by EU-Startups, the company is increasing its initial investments to up to €3 million per startup, with the possibility of follow-on funding reaching €5 million. This move highlights the growing interest in technologies that address environmental and social challenges and could provide a significant boost to Europe’s startup ecosystem.

Founded in 2020 by Hinek Sochor, Soulmates Ventures focuses on eight key sectors: air, water, energy, mobility, circular economy, food and agriculture, education, and healthcare. The fund has already supported 17 startups across Europe, making 26 investments. Its portfolio includes projects like eAgronom (digital tools for farmers), Kardi AI (heart disease diagnostics), Twinzo (digital twins for business), and Ogre AI (energy tech). “Our goal is to help innovative sustainability-focused companies scale and grow,” says Sochor, adding that the fund aims to be the “fuel” for startups with strong teams and impactful products.

The new fund operates under Article 9 of the SFDR (EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation), underscoring its commitment to high sustainability standards. This means the investments target projects with significant environmental and social impact, and investors receive transparent reporting on ESG metrics (environmental, social, and governance). In addition to capital, Soulmates Ventures offers hands-on support through its three-stage acceleration program, helping startups with branding, marketing, finance, operations, and market expansion.

The success of Soulmates Ventures is reflected in its portfolio: Twin Science & Robotics recently raised 37 million CZK to expand STEM education globally, and VOS.health was named an Impact Star in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 2023 for its contributions to society. The fund also received recognition as “Best Venture Capital Fund of the Year” at the 2023 Global Startup Awards in Istanbul.

This fund launch comes amid growing interest in sustainable tech in Europe. According to The European Deep Tech Report 2025, Deep Tech startups raised €15 billion in 2024, with a significant portion going to energy and healthcare projects. With its sustainability focus, Soulmates Ventures fits neatly into this trend — but can it compete with larger players like Clean Energy Ventures, which recently closed a €281 million fund? For now, Soulmates Ventures is proving that even smaller funds can have a big impact by supporting startups that are changing the world for the better.
