Space, Texas-Style: $26 Million for Launching the Future
The Texas Space Commission has approved the first wave of grants totaling $26 million, aimed at accelerating the development of the state’s space industry. The funds have been distributed among five companies, each playing a role in building Texas’ orbital power.
🔹 Aegis Aerospace, Inc. (Houston) — up to $10,000,000
🔹 ICON Technology, Inc. (Austin) — up to $694,350
🔹 Interlune Corporation (Houston) — up to $4,840,000
🔹 KULR Technology Group, Inc. (Webster) — up to $6,703,500
🔹 Venus Aerospace Corporation (Houston) — up to $3,900,000
From thermal materials and satellite solutions to hypersonic technologies and 3D printing in space — these companies cover key vectors of the future space industry. As expected, Houston is becoming a gravitational center, but Austin and Webster are also playing their parts.
This is just the beginning. The commission is already preparing the next stages of support, as Texas strengthens its ambition to not just participate but lead in the new space race.
