TidalWatt Develops a New Generation of Underwater Turbines

The installations use powerful ocean currents to generate energy. According to the company, these turbines are 60 times more powerful than traditional wind turbines. Unlike wind, ocean currents provide a constant energy flow, allowing turbines to operate almost 90% of the time, compared to 30% for their wind counterparts.

TidalWatt turbines, with a diameter of only 3 meters, can produce up to 5 MW of electricity, comparable to the power of a 180-meter-diameter wind turbine. Moreover, these turbines are environmentally safe and create conditions for the formation of artificial reefs, contributing to marine life protection and preventing trawling. This is a real breakthrough in alternative energy sources.

More information about the project can be found on the TidalWatt website.
