World Network & Story Launch Proof-of-Humanity to Protect Creativity

In July, it was revealed that crypto project World Network (formerly Worldcoin), initiated by Sam Altman, and IP blockchain Story have announced a strategic partnership. Their goal: help creators prove authorship and monetize their work using World ID and Story Blockchain.

Based on anatomical identifiers — specifically iris scans (World ID) — the platform enables a “human digital fingerprint”: creators can link their Story wallets to verified identity and control how their content is used. Earnings may come via licenses or fixed fees — all embedded in a programmable legal contract (Programmable IP License).

World ID integration is scheduled for Fall 2025, just in time as AI is now generating up to 90% of online content. Imagine: biometric fingerprints and blockchain-based IP settings fighting fakes and clones. One click — and the PIL license, rooted in U.S. law, is activated.

This partnership combines two key trends: accelerated AI content generation and the global push for authorship transparency and fair compensation. With 29 million active World IDs globally and $135 million invested by a16z and Bain Capital Crypto, this looks like a serious investment in a “human-centered” Web3.
